My body and I are on speaking terms again. After years of anger and silence, we’re re-learning how to be together. It is a truce of sorts.
We started out the best of friends. When I was little, I liked to make it run in my navy blue Nikes with the white swoosh that made me feel so fast. We rode bikes and caught silver wriggling fish. It felt good in the sunshine and so excited in the rain.
It was me and I was it. Strong and fun and wonderful.
But then, the betrayals. I guess you could say my body broke my heart one too many times. So we stopped being friends. And even though I didn’t start it, I finished it.
We are both to blame.

Bear play

On our last day in Jasper, Kian and I went for a walk along Pyramid Lake that morning. It was the first weekend of September so it was cool with a bit of mist on the water and the autumn colors were just starting to come in. We headed back to town around 9am and spotted a Black bear in the open forest above the road.
One bear soon became two when the other stepped out from behind a dense clump of Buffalo berries. The berries were ripe at that time so the bears had been drawn in. At first we thought they were a mother and cub but when they were side by side, and then when they were wrestling, we could see they were both the same size.

Estudantes e Profissionais se preparam para greve no dia 11 de novembro.

Após a reunião executiva nacional, do dia 26 de Setembro, onde centrais sindicais e dos transportes escolheram o dia 11 de Novembro para uma greve geral, estudantes, professores e servidores públicos começam a se movimentar a favor da adesão a paralisação que tem como objetivo uma resposta conjunta aos ataques do governo golpista de Michel Temer aos direitos dos cidadãos.
As medidas já anunciadas pelo governo do atual presidente e as iniciativas recentemente aprovadas ou em curso no Congresso Nacional, apontam para a retirada dos direitos da classe trabalhadora, estudantil e diminuição drástica dos investimentos em serviços públicos essenciais, como saúde, educação. Essas medidas foram o estopim para a adesão de centrais sindicais, como a CUT e movimentos estudantis, à uma paralisação geral.
Estudantes da UFRN aprovaram indicativo de greve geral por 300 votos a 9, durante a Assembleia estudantil e a principal motivação são as medidas do estado em ataque…

O horário de verão termina dia 19 de fevereiro do ano que vem.

Neste domingo, 16, começa o horário de verão. Quando marcar 00h, o relógio deve ser adiantado em uma hora. Época boa para economizar energia. A Cemig estima que, em todo o estado, a economia de energia pode chegar aos 0,5%, o suficiente para abastecer Belo Horizonte por nove dias. O consumidor deve estar sempre alerta, usar a energia de forma consciente e evitar o desperdício. O horário de verão termina dia 19 de fevereiro de 2017. Um total de 126 dias.
