“The Poet’s Dog”, a Book For The Ages

“Dogs speak words. But only poets and children hear.”
Those are the opening words in Patricia MacLachlan’s new book, The Poet’s Dog. I have read the book twice, because there are many words not to be missed; words that are pure and don’t need added adjectives and text. MacLachlan’s writing stands alone in a field of masterful literature. Her eighty-eight pages are some of the best I have ever read. In the words of the publisher:
“Alone in a fierce winter storm, Nickel and Flora are brave but afraid. A dog finds them. Teddy speaks words and brings them to shelter. The Poet’s cabin has light and food and love. But where is the poet? Teddy will tell the story of how words make poems and connect to those who hear each other.”

Corn field, pond and chicken curry

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all fine. A real autumn day here, cool but sunny. Yesterday it was raining. Can’t complain though, the autumn leaves are falling, our tortoises are inside now and they are making such a noise!
we went for a walk this afternoon and this corn field is just across our street
love the reflection of the trees and houses in the pond
our meal for tonight – chicken garam masala and brocolli – delicious!

MultiPlus é o título da mostra fotográfica que Alessandro Maschio leva ao Centro Cultural Martha Watts (rua Boa Morte, 1.257, Centro, Piracicaba). São 20 imagens, coloridas e em preto e branco, retratos e imagens espontâneas nos estilos lifestyle (estilo de vida) e documental de gêmeos idênticos e fraternos (formados a partir de dois óvulos).
A intenção do fotógrafo é compartilhar parte das histórias coletadas durante as entrevistas com gêmeos, trigêmeos, quadrigêmeos e quíntuplos de idades distintas e residentes em Piracicaba, Santos, Sorocaba, Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, Salto e São Pedro.
Segundo ele, a mostra nasceu depois de observar as diferenças entre as filhas gêmeas, “que apesar de terem dividido o mesmo útero, têm personalidades bem diferentes”.
