Creio que todo mundo já passou pela situação de encontrar um amigo que lhe recomenda um filme que você ainda não assistiu, você pede para ele contar um pouco da história para ver se você se interessa ou não pelo filme. Geralmente após estas conversas acontecem as seguintes situações: Seu amigo lhe contando sobre o filme aumentou suas expectativas que não foram correspondidas quando você viu o filme ou o filme é bem melhor do que aquilo que seu amigo lhe contou. Pois bem, mas por que tudo isso?

Primeiramente apenas para ilustrar algo muito importante em qualquer divulgação científica, o uso de analogias e adaptação de linguagem. Assim como seu amigo contando o filme não é o mesmo que você ver o filme, ler sobre ciências do ponto de vista de um leigo dificilmente lhe dá o mesmo entendimento que um cientista ou alguém com alguma formação científica. The house is flake-full of rows:

you shake it and they snowstorm
over heel-riven floorboards;

you hear in door-slam cracks
seashell roars and cries

of icy rollers and breakers,
retractions rasping shingle.

Send in carpenters, carpenters,
and hope for neap, not spring, tides.
