A ideia é mandar o texto literário com tema ligado ao suspense, terror ou mistério para concorrer a diversas coleções de livros.
O concurso de Contos de terror do Riva entra em sua quarta edição e terá a novidade de premiar, além dos contos mais votados pelo blog, também o de maior qualidade através de análise de um corpo de jurados.
A disputa continua liberada apenas para os alunos da escola, mas todo mundo pede participar como votante. Ela vale durante todo o mês de outubro, portanto as histórias têm de ser mandadas até o final deste mês de setembro.
Prestigie a atividade e ajude a divulgar essa possibilidade de evento cultural para os meninos e meninas se descobrirem como escritores.

O Congresso Internacional Bocage e as Luzes do séc. XVIII, a decorrer entre os dias 12 e 14 de Setembro no Fórum Municipal Luísa Todi, em Setúbal, foi admitido no plano de formação de professores.

The Sage Train: Philosophy Comes to Life
This novel uses a quirky and original idea: a dead Nietzsche, discussing great philosophers with a travel companion. The book is written in episodes spanning times and places between Athens of 290 BC and Cambridge of 1969, with characters such as Immanuel Kant, Thomas Hobbes and Aristippus.
While the stories are fictitious, they are based on the real historical personalities and depict dilemmas and parts of their philosophies. The author has a background in teaching Philosophy and Ethics and is clearly familiar with her subjects and their ways of thinking. As such, the book is an intelligent and rewarding read with probably more depth and accomplishment than this reviewer of historical fiction can appreciate and accredit.
Sadly, for me there was a lack of scene-setting, and there were fewer ornamental details than I would have liked…

In this award-winning short film by Pittsburgh film collective Animal, we see a portrait of Michael Paul Smith who after a childhood scarred by bullying and dark family secrets, found himself working in a series of dead-end jobs and battling depression. Seeking catharsis, an escape, or both, Smith embarked on a photography project that combined the iconography of his mid-20th-century childhood with clever visual trickery. The result, Elgin Park, is a beguiling photography series featuring 1/24th-scale models of quintessential Americana that Smith describes as a ‘dreamlike recreation’ of his past. In Elgin Park, Smith describes how he’s found redemption through the project after bouts with suicidal spells, creating a world that has pockets of darkness, but where he is never lonely.

Pink Salt Lake Urmia in Iran

Urmia – Endorheic salt lake located in the Armenian highlands in the north-western Iran, the largest lake in the Middle East. It used to be the largest lake in the Middle East and the 6th largest salt lake in the world, with an area of 5,200 square kilometers, length 140 km, a width of 55 km and a maximum depth of 16 meters. As was the case with the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan, Urmia has shrunk dramatically in recent decades. But as the lake shrinks and the water flow is restricted, the more the salt concentration increases, resulting in microscopic organisms that grow in the lake change its color, giving it a reddish hue. Photographer Norouz Ibrahim went to the northeast of Iran, to capture the beauty of “dying” Urmia.
