Movies, music and literature has brought fame to millions, but not all celebrities are humans. Sometimes, a tree becomes the unexpected center of attraction. Here are some real trees that have found fame through art and fiction.

A ideia primeira desse vídeo era apenas apresentar essa música para divulgar minha participação no último “Desconcertos de Poesia” de 2016 no dia 6 de dezembro, evento promovido pelo amigo, escritor e poeta Claudinei Vieira no Patuscada – Livraria, bar & café. A Steller’s Jay in Lake Louise

On a snowy morning in Lake Louise, I found this Steller’s Jay up in the trees looking for breakfast along a trail that wound away from the water. This one displayed the white markings around the eye which distinguish the Rocky Mountain subspecies from the other fifteen that are present across North America.
I did not expect to see this type of bird there at this time of the year. That said, they are regular denizens of parks, public areas and other places where trees and people happen to meet. Some will migrate but it is irregular and, with the mild start to winter this year, it is not surprising that this one, and likely a few more, have chosen to stay in the area.

Firefighters in Oakland this morning are investigating a three-alarm structure fire that occurred Friday night and reportedly involved casualties.

At least nine people were killed and a total of 25 people were unaccounted for after a fire broke out at a party at an artist collective in Oakland, authorities said.
The fire broke out late Friday night at 31st Avenue and International Boulevard, north of Interstate 880, in the Fruitvale neighborhood.
“We’ve done a preliminary search and we are up to nine known fatalities,” said Oakland Fire Chief Teresa Deloach Reed, who responded to the scene. “There’s still a still a lot of the building that needs to be searched.”
