While Norse mythology has inspired a number of games, realistic Viking history is largely untapped. Logic Artists’ Expedition: Viking keeps things rooted with authenticity, while still giving characters a chance to seem larger than life.

When we interviewed Logic Artists back in February, the developers told us that one of the strengths and challenges of working with Viking history is that documentation is so sparse. This creates a core framework for historical context while still allowing for creative expression and engaging gameplay.

While the developer diary only gives a short glimpse of gameplay, we can help fill in the blanks. We had a chance to play Expedition: Viking at GDC, and you can read our impressions for more. It’ll be out this fall on PC.
