@kenrulei: A better analogy is probably something like WoW where you pick whether to be horde or alliance at the start and the quests and some of the story elements will be different depending on which race and class you choose at the beginning. In the case of WoW, the first ten levels or so can be fairly different, but the further along you get, the more similar the experience, though the horde and alliance always have their differences.

Another analogy might be the good vs. evil choices you can make in some RPGs or games like Infamous where your abilities change depending on which path you choose and more importantly your relationships and world around you.

In either case, the price you pay covers all your options.

However, neither of those are quite right. In the past, you might replay a Fire Emblem game because of characters you lost, relationships you missed, etc. But they are long games, and you probably are suffering Fire Emblem fatigue after a while. The idea of doing that with two or three separate games is just too much when the core gameplay is going to remain the same regardless of which version you play.

Again, I’m just walking away. There’s not a chance I’m buying into this or supporting the consumer abuse experiment.
