Remedy Addresses Quantum Break Windows 10 Problems

While Xbox One gamers have been having a mostly trouble-free time with Quantum Break, the PC version has been experiencing problems. Criticisms include frame rate stutters, crashes, and performance issues.
In an extensive post on the game’s forum’s Remedy has acknowledged a host of issues with plans for improving many of them. The frame rate issues will be addressed in a title update coming soon.
Remedy has a workaround for performance problems that occur after extended play sessions. It’s a simple one, too: close the game and reopen it. The developer says this is rare, but it is due to video memory fragmentation that happens over longer sessions.
One criticism levied, that the game doesn’t have a way to quit to desktop, is being addressed. While the accusation isn’t accurate (there is a red X that appears when hovering your mouse at the top right corner of the screen), Remedy is adding a menu option that will accomplish the same thing.
For those playing on Xbox One, the occasional strobing light that appears will be repaired in the next update. If you experience this, closing the game and reopening it should take care of the issue.
One thing that won’t be changing is SLI and Crossfire support for Windows 10. Remedy says that implementation would have been “significant and out of scope” for this game.

Our Take
Since I’m playing on Xbox One, I haven’t experienced many of these issues. I did run into the weird strobing light and wasn’t sure if it was an intended effect I just didn’t understand or a bug. It was most certainly intrusive, so if you see something weird like that, shut the game down and reopen.
It’s unfortunate that the PC version is having so many problems. Especially with Microsoft under fire for the Universal Windows Platform approach and gamers unhappy about the game being locked to the Windows storefront, this isn’t going to win people over.

Rede social anunciou novidade durante a sua conferência para desenvolvedores F8, iniciada nesta terça-feira, 12/4, na Califórnia.
Os usuários do Facebook Messenger em breve poderão falar com bots automatizados usando um novo conjunto de ferramentas de desenvolvedores, anunciou a rede social nesta terça-feira, 12/4, durante a sua conferência F8, realizada em San Francisco, nos EUA.
A nova plataforma Messenger Platform Send/Receive API permitirá que os desenvolvedores criem bots que consigam conversar com os usuários e fazer coisas como permitir que eles comprem produtos e recebam as últimas notícias. Ela dá aos desenvolvedores um conjunto de ferramentas de interface de usuário que permitirá que eles criem botões dentro de uma conversa do Messenger que guie os usuários sobre o que um bot pode fazer, juntamente com um texto sobre como lidar com as conversas.
As ferramentas estão disponíveis a partir desta terça-feira, 12/4, em beta para os desenvolvedores com empresas como app de compras Spring e CNN fornecendo bots do Facebook para os usuários neste lançamento.
A notícia chega apenas semanas depois de a Microsoft ter devotado uma boa parte da keynote de abertura da sua conferência de desenvolvedores para o que os seus executivos chamam de “conversas como uma plataforma”. A empresa liberou um kit de ferramentas gratuito para ajudar os desenvolvedores a criarem bots que funcionem em uma variedade de plataformas, incluindo rivais do Facebook Messenger como o GroupMe e o Telegram.

See New Deux Ex: Mankind Divided Gameplay in Eidos Montreal Studio Visit Video

3D design software creator Autodesk has released a video of a studio visit to Eidos Montreal, developer of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Along with offering some insight into the tools its developers use to create games, the video also provides a fresh look at gameplay from the upcoming sequel.
The clips include soldiers, who look to be cybernetically enhanced, mistreating ordinary human citizens, a showcase of some of the dark, slum-like environments in the game, and a bit of first-person shooting. Take a look above to see it all.
Mankind Divided was previously expected to launch in February 2016, but the game was delayed by six months. Developer Eidos Montreal said it refused to compromise on quality, and as a result the delay was necessary. It will now launch on August 23.
The game, which runs on Eidos’ proprietary Dawn Engine, is in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It takes place in 2029, and continues the story of Adam Jensen, picking up after the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
The game’s release date isn’t the only element of the project to have changed. Square Enix originally announced an “Augment Your Pre-Order” campaign for Mankind Divided, but this was tossed out after the publisher received a “resounding amount of negative feedback.”

Oculus Rift shipments delayed for some due to component shortages

Rolling out new technology has never been easy, and VR is having a number of its own logistical problems. Both HTC and Oculus have had difficulties honouring early pre-orders, and as we learned earlier this month, Rift pre-orders are lagging behind schedule due to component shortages.
Oculus acknowledged the problem at the time, promising free shipping anywhere in the world to those affected by the delays. According to a new Verge report though, some early purchasers are learning that they might not receive their unit for months – some as late as June. Oculus provided a statement to the site in order to allay concerns.
“The component shortage impacted our quantities more than we expected, and we’ve updated the shipment window to reflect these changes,” a spokesperson said.
“We apologize for the delay. We’re delivering Rifts to customers every day, and we’re focused on getting Rifts out the door as fast as we can. We’ve taken steps to address the component shortage, and we’ll continue shipping in higher volumes each week. We’ve also increased our manufacturing capacity to allow us to deliver in higher quantities, faster. Many Rifts will ship less than four weeks from original estimates, and we hope to beat the new estimates we’ve provided.”
For those of us who haven’t pre-ordered a Rift, doing so now would get us a unit by August. That seems like a long time to wait, but to put things into perspective: even comparatively simple technology like the PS4 can dry up quickly due to demand, so if anything it’s a healthy sign for the platform.
According to Palmer Luckey himself, the company won’t divulge what components they’re running short on.
