Jörg Hofmann fue elegido Presidente de IndustriALL Global Union el 5 de octubre de 2016, en el II Congreso Mundial de IndustriALL en Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Hofmann es actualmente Presidente del mayor sindicato nacional de Alemania, IG Metall.
