The boxes crowding my living room, reminding me that I have agreed to the winds of change, can go. The dresses, the shoes that made me beautiful, at least in my mind during those years when I was hidden even from myself, can go. The bottles, tall, short and fat filled with creams scented and pearled, extracted from fruits no one has ever seen but desperately need to stay alive, can go. The promises to do better, live better, be better can go too. My mind equally cluttered with these demands. I want freedom, a suitcase and the hands of my children who are both well today. Yesterday one was not and his injury has been repaired. So was mine. He is all I need.

We are days from Memorial Day and the holiday weekend here in the US of A. How did we get here so quickly? Well that’s life. We’re busy and encompassed with so many things that while we may wish for holidays, we’re also so occupied with life and activities and everything else that days and events just creep up on you.
Here we go. It’s the end of May and it’s time to celebrate. It’s always time to celebrate. The party continues. And of course that means the tea drinking party continues.
What better way to get this week and upcoming weekend going than a fateful stop to one of the great towns in Maryland and all of the United States, Annapolis, MD.

Traveling around Europe, Belgian photographer Reginald Van de Velde explore the bottom of the abandoned cooling towers and finds there the theatrical stage. He said
‘One thing that fascinates me is the fact that not a single cooling tower is the same. Each and every one of them has a unique interior design and build. They all look the same from the exterior, but with each visit to a new cooling tower I’m always surprised by a different interior, time and time again.

There was a beautiful forest close…a place I would go to periodically for a hike. I tended to go there when it felt like the world was crashing down around me, when I felt overwhelmed. The woods were my escape, my get-away place of sanity. Walking under the shade of tall trees and listening to the sound of running water from rivers and waterfalls, I always had the same thought: I feel so whole when I am here. Why don’t I do this more often?
I know what makes me feel more. Why isn’t this an everyday practice for me?
In these days, it seems like we are living on the brink. Pomp and bluster seem to rule the day. There is conflict here, at home and around the world. Our very home, this tiny third rock from the sun, is in real danger.
