We bloggers – and, indeed, non-bloggers! – are often drawn, like dogs to their vomit, to the posts, and lives, of others who seem to be in the same, or similar, predicaments to ourselves.
To be equitable and fair, most of those who are so drawn come along because of a deep feeling of compassion and empathy and a genuine desire to comfort the suffering one. I can state this unequivocally from my own experience, both as a blogger and as a person.
But there are those whose motives are somewhat darker. I call them the Converters, the Preacher-men-and-women! They promise a cure if you believe in their god, or go along the therapy road they have chosen – and, very subtly, threaten you with Hell fire if you do not hearken to their way of doing things!
