La publicación de un epistolario parecería un acto violatorio de la intimidad de quien, fallecido ya, no está en condiciones de defender su pequeño espacio personal. Es probable que para aquellos que vivieron con el propósito de ser útiles, esta consideración ética carece de sentido. De ese modo, sigue conversando con nosotros desde su humanidad más entrañable, la que todos compartimos en el amor, la enfermedad, la muerte que avanza sobre nosotros, la participación política y, como lo supieron Cervantes y Martí, la mezquindad humana.

My mum who is 85 is a law unto herself, she believes it is her right to say just what she thinks, she does not have a think before you speak button, which can be amusing if it not directed at you.
The other weekend I went to her house and it was a nice sunny morning, I was wearing a dress that I had not worn for quite a while, but due to losing so much weight I put it on and thought it looked nice.
When I got to her house, she looked me up and down and I said “Yes I have not worn this dress for ages do you like it” (wrong thing to say ) she immediately said.
“No it looks tatty and looks only fit for the rag-bag”, basically the dustbin, I had to laugh because that’s my mother. When I left her house…

bleeds into the sky
brutal in its honesty —
no deceit

no silver tongue prophecies
or false promises
of a golden destiny
just merciless, cold beauty
*I had a fantastic weekend filled with friends, love, memorable moments and laughter: some of the things happening in my city in the last couple of days, you couldn’t make up if you tried = much hilarity was derived from it. The beautiful place where I live has often attracted the deranged attention-seekers over the years; you know what ‘they’ say : the people who are in therapy aren’t the ones who need it the most. Anyway, hope you guys have had (and are still having) a great weekend – let’s start this upcoming week flying high

Lord Swiss and I were on our way home this week from a walk around our estate, so I said he should take a photo of me in front of our villa including the drive. I know, it is really time to have the trees trimmed and perhaps the lawn mowed. I shall have to tell the gardener to reserve some time to do it, but at the moment he is busy cultivating our orchid collection.
I told Charles that the orchids were getting a little out of hand, especially the striped beauty which had been producing far too many flowers and too often. Charles did add that we should have a second greenhouse to accomodate the collection as they were getting a little out of hand. We had some plans for extending our property, as a second garage was becoming necessary. I decided it was time to organise our car…

Israel x Síria: novo conflito à vista no Oriente Médio?

O presidente do Instituto de Estudos sobre o Oriente Médio, Evgueni Satanovski, citado pela Agência Russa Federal de Noticias (FAN, em russo), não compartilha esta preocupação dado que, segundo sua opinião, Israel não tem uma política especial com respeito à Síria.
“Atualmente, quando um projétil cai em território israelense a partir do território sírio, Israel como resposta destrói na linha fronteiriça os pontos que lhe parecem convenientes. Além disso, não lhe interessa a Israel”, explicou Evgueni Satanovski.
Nos últimos tempos, Israel se preocupa únicamente em defender seu próprio território, frisou. Tendo em conta que a aviação da Rússia participa na luta contra o terrorismo na Síria, Satanovski comentou que a possibilidade de uma colisão entre os militares russos presentes no país árabe e os soldados israelenses é mínima. Ao mesmo tempo, os interesses políticos de Moscow e Jerusalém na região não se contradizem, assegurou.
