Amazon put the rumors to bed on Wednesday and announced the Fire Phone, the company’s first smartphone.
The market is already full of high-end handsets, so it’ll be tricky for Amazon to stand out from the herd. But here are several things that the retailer hopes will get your attention:
It Has the 3D Gimmick Everyone Expected
As rumored, the Fire Phone has multiple cameras on the front that can track the position of the user’s head, creating a 3D effect as your perspective shifts.
It’s not just about curb appeal; tilting the phone can reveal hidden menus, such as a search bar or an options panel. Users can also scroll through books and web pages by tilting. Developers can also build 3D tilt effects into their games and apps.

Those clothes

Those clothes the old man wore
were ragged and dirty
and smelled of sweat,
ill-matched, out-of-fashion, passé
and yet
he bore them well, as a proud man might,
in spite of the negative auras around him,
where others avoided his spaces and more
for fear of catching a rare and incurable,
like poverty, odor or bad breath or worse –
who — though not being begged — dug out of their purse
a dollar or more to avoid the man’s curse.

Quando o outsider entrou no STF (Supremo Tribunal Federal), os senhores formais aceitaram com superior condescendência. O outsider tinha currículo, falava várias línguas, desenvolvera teses importantes sobre inclusão.
Mas era outsider. Não vinha de família de juristas, gostava do ambiente informal dos botecos, era de pouquíssimos amigos e nunca fez média na vida.
Conquistou tudo na porrada, dependendo dele e só dele.
Tinha tudo para entrar para a história, derrubando conchavos, despindo o formalismo e a hipocrisia de muitas togas, subvertendo formas de ver o mundo, trazendo para o Supremo os ares da contemporaneidade e a marca altiva de sua cor e dos que conquistaram tudo sem nunca ceder.
Mas faltava-lhe algo, uma peça qualquer no sistema emocional, que o tornou uma espécie de Mike Tyson…
