Visit the largest conservation project of sea turtles in the world

 PCST participants can visit the TAMAR Project , located in one of the most beautiful beaches of Bahia , Praia do Forte on May 9  

                   

 

The participants of the 13th International Conference on Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) will have a great opportunity to meet and enjoy an internationally recognized and one of the most successful projects on conservation of marine turtles: TAMAR (http://www project. tamar.org.br/). The TAMAR team will discuss and share their strategies for science communication at their headquarters in Praia do Forte with participants of PCST Conference. 

The TAMAR project  protects five endangered species of sea turtles, that occur in Brazilian beaches through scientific research and environmental awareness actions with tourists and local communities. During 33 years of existence it has reached the remarkable number of 15 million protected baby turtles, through actions in19 research bases 19 and 11 conservation and visitor centers. 

PCST participants will have the opportunity to know more about this conservation project, their communication strategies, science education activities and their history.Join the scientific trip organized for May 9, departing 8:30 am in front of the Hotel Pestana Bahia . The visit will include bilingual guide. The afternoon is free for lunch, rest and contemplation, after all, the project is located in Praia do Forte, one of the most beautiful of Bahia, with cristal clear water and natural pools.
