O livro tem como objetivo, levar o livro ao conhecimento de mais pessoas, como em universidades, escolas técnicas, enfim ao público em geral, pois toda semana, sempre as pessoas me procuram perguntando o que é o LibreOffice. Também desejo sanar diversas dúvidas do cotidiano.
Minha intenção em 2015, é reeditar e atualizar esse ebook, pois o LibreOffice já está na versão 4.3 e aquele livro é ainda da versão 3 e corrigir alguns erros encontrados naquela edição e reportados pela comunidade de Software Livre e outros usuários.
Depois dessas atualizações, vou imprimí-lo e entregar para comunidade um livro colorido, de excelente qualidade. Com a impressão desse livro é mostrar que é possível criar um livro completo, utilizando somente ferramentas opensource, desde sua criação, passando pela diagramação, usando somente ferramentas livres ou próximo ao 100%.
O livro será lançado na PUC Porto Alegre, entre os dias 08 à 11 de Julho de 2011, durante o maior evento de software livre das américas, o FISL (Fórum Internacional de Software Livre). O livro terá: tamanho 14 x 21cm com aproximadamente 150 páginas, Capa Triplex 250g - 4 x 0 BOPP Brilho ou Fosco; + orelha 6cm.
